Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to make an appointment before I bring my dog in for daycare?

–Nope! Here at the Doggy Office we strive to be as convenient as possible, as such, assuming you have all the paperwork filled out and up to date vet records for your dog you can bring them in whenever you would like!

Vet records you need to keep up-to-date: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. Don’t have you latest vet record? Have your vet fax them to us today: 262.364.2011

Is there a minimum daycare attendance requirement?

–No, we do not require that your dog comes a certain number of times a week/month, you may bring your dog as frequently or infrequently as you would like.

For those customers who do plan on coming regularly, please see our Daycare Tab for our convenient daycare packages!

My dog seems really thirsty after a day of daycare, is this normal?

–Yes, the dogs play for 6 hours a day, every day, and even though we have water out at all times it is normal for them to still be thirsty after that much play.

I just brought my dog home from daycare and he is acting kind of tired, is that normal?

–Yep! Since the dogs are out playing for so much of the day it is very normal for them to be tired for the rest of the day and even into the next day.

Is my dog going to need a bath after daycare?

–It is possible that your dog may smell more like a dog than usual after playing with all their friends, but that’s just a sign of a good time!

Is doggy daycare going to interfere with potty training?

–No, we treat the play areas as “outside” and have not had any problems with our personal dogs, or client’s dogs’ potty training due to coming to daycare.

Can my dog get groomed while at daycare?

–For sure! We have groomers as well as bathers on staff to do haircuts, baths, and nail trims. Just give us a call to set up an appointment for grooming and they can get it done during their next day of daycare.

See our Grooming Tab for pricing

There is a lot of barking when I drop off my dog, is it always like that?

–Absolutely not, the dogs always get excited when a new dog is brought into the kennel room or play group. Within a couple minutes they will calm down and go back to normal.

Should I bring anything else other than my dog for a day of daycare?

–Dogs must all have their own quick-release collar and a leash. If you would like us to feed your dog at any point during the day you can always bring food or treats for them, just make sure that they have your dog’s name on it.

Will my dog get hurt at Doggy Office?

–The safety of all dogs is always our first priority. In initial temperament tests, we make every attempt to weed out aggressive behavior. We closely monitor the dogs at all times and keep play on a fun, friendly basis so that it does not become too wild or confrontational. However, dogs use their mouths and paws to play; therefore, little scratches and nicks are not uncommon. If anything more serious should happen, we will always notify you immediately and transport them to the nearest veterinarian in the unlikely event that a more serious injury occurs.

Will my dog get sick at Doggy Office?

–We take all the necessary precautions to prevent illnesses; however just like kids at daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If a dog does contract something contagious they must stay home until your vet says they are clear to return to daycare.

Can daycare packages be used for boarding stays?

–No, because our prices are different for boarding and daycare, you cannot use daycare packages to pay for boarding stays.

Are you open on Holidays?

–We are open 365 days a year! We do have special limited holidays hours for the following holidays:

New Year’s Day

Easter Sunday

Memorial Day

4th of July

We hold regular business hours for all other holidays.

If my dog has any special medications, can you administer them at the Doggy Office?

–Yes, just be sure at drop off to let the manager on duty know the time of day, dosage, and best way to administer the medication. The only thing we cannot accommodate is insulin dependent dogs, as our hours of business do not meet the time-sensitive nature of those medications.

What method of payments do you accept?

–We accept cash and credit. Doggy Office does not accept personal checks.

Do you accept all breeds of dog?

–Yes, Doggy Office does not discriminate against any breed of dog; however, all dogs must pass a temperament test on their first day in order to be able to play in play group. We also continually monitor dogs for changes in temperament as they age and mature.

Do you offer any discounts?

–Yes, Doggy Office offers several different package deals at discounted rates, as well as multiple dog discounts.

Please see our Daycare Tab for pricing.

How old does my dog need to be before it can come?

–Dogs can come as soon as they have had their second set of DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations as a puppy.

*Please note that for dogs coming from rescues/human societies we do require a ten day hold between date of adoption and your dog’s first day of daycare.

If my dog does not like other dogs can it still come for daycare/boarding and be separated?

–Yes, we do have a separate play area for dogs that do not like to be around other dogs to play by themselves.

Do you separate the small dogs from the big dogs?

–Yes, all dogs are separated by size and temperament; meaning, we do a temperament test on every dog their first day to see which group they will have the best time in. We also continually monitor dogs for changes in temperament as they age and mature.

What if I cannot make it to pick up my dog before close?

–If you are not going to be able to pick up your dog before close you will need to call ahead and let us know, and we do charge a $15 late pick-up fee.
