Training
We are pleased to offer onsite group and private training through Hi 5 Dog Training for puppies and adult dogs alike. All classes are taught using positive techniques including food, toys, and play. You will learn how to use your dog's crate as a training tool. You will also learn how to correct a dog for inappropriate behavior.
About Our Trainer
Johanna Ammentorp has owned and trained dogs in obedience, agility and herding for over 30 years. In 1989 she earned a Utility Dog title on a Bichon Frise (which was number 3 non-sporting dog in the country) and in 1990 a Companion Dog title on a Flat Coated Retriever. She has trained two dogs in herding, and has worked a Border Collie on her farm with sheep for 7 years.
Currently Johanna is competing in AKC Agility events with a Pembroke Corgi, a Toy Fox Terrier and an Italian Greyhound. Her Toy Fox Terrier is nationally ranked and will be competing in the AKC Agility Invitational in Long Beach California in December.
Johanna has owned 14 dogs, including 11 different breeds since the age of 12. They range in size from a 5 pound Toy Fox Terrier to an Old English Sheepdog. Three of them have been dogs recovered from a rescue.
Showing aside, Johanna’s main focus has always been working with beginner owners and dogs to help them construct a fulfilling relationship that leads to a lifetime of joy for both. She firmly believes that every dog deserves a chance to be the best he can be at whatever he does, be it pet or competitor.
